Title IX of the Education Amendments act of 1972 states that “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”. Our Title IX Policy encompasses Sexual Misconduct and Gender Discrimination. This policy is in compliance with Federal Law and exists to keep the members of our campus community as safe as possible. If you would like to file a Title IX report you can contact Laura Young, Title IX Coordinator:
Anyone can file a report as a student, employee, or community member in cases that involve a member of our community by phone, mail, email, or in person. The Title IX office is on the ground floor of John L. Hill Chapel.
These reporting avenues are for non-emergency situations and are mostly monitored during normal operating hours of the institution. If you are in an emergency situation, you can reach out to Georgetown College Campus Safety at 502-863-8111 or Georgetown Police Department via 911.

Georgetown College’s Title IX Team have been trained from and using resources from the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA). You can find ATIXA’s training materials at: https://atixa.org/2020-regulations-requirement-posting-of-training-materials/.
Our Title IX Team members either have previously been trained using these materials or are trained prior to being involved in the process. This includes the Title IX Coordinator, Hearing Board/ Decision Makers, Advisors, Appellate Committee and any others as needed.
