MSC Announces Bluegrass Division Football Schedule

Mid-South Conference officials announced the 2021 Bluegrass Division football schedule Tuesday. Games will be played on Fridays with kick-off times to be announced at a later date. The conference moved games from Saturday in hopes of alleviating scheduling pressures with fall, winter and spring sports all being played in overlapping fashion.

Georgetown College will open a seven-game, eight-week season Friday, Feb. 19 hosting Lindsey Wilson College. The Tigers take to the road the following two Fridays at Cumberland University – Lebanon, Tenn. – and University of the Cumberlands – Williamsburg, Ky. Campbellsville University and Bethel University will come to Toyota Stadium on March 12 and 19 respectively before the entire conference takes March 26 off. The sixth week was built in for all eight Bluegrass Divisional teams to have open in case of any postponements in the first five weeks of competition.

GC finishes the season on the road with games at Thomas More University, April 2 in Crestview Hills, Ky., and University of Pikeville in Pikeville, Ky., April 9.

The Bluegrass Division administrative council voted to postpone the 2020 fall season on Aug. 11 due to concerns surrounding COVID-19.

NAIA officials announced on July 31 that the NAIA Football Championship Series would be moved to spring 2021. On Aug. 20, NAIA officials announced that the FCS championship game is slated for May 10 at Eddie G. Robinson Stadium in Grambling, La. The FCS begins on April 17 with the first round of the 16-team playoff.
