Georgetown College Awarded NetVUE Grant to Foster Leadership for Communities of Faith
Submitted on September 17, 2025
Georgetown College has received a $39,977 Grant for Fostering Leadership for Communities of Faith from the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE). This grant will help the campus better support students as they consider vocations of Christian leadership. The project aims to support programming for ministry students at Georgetown College and strengthen relationships with churches across the region.
“Being rooted in Christian love and service is central to Georgetown College's mission,” says Dr. Derek Hatch, Professor of Religion and Endowed Chair of Baptist Studies. “This grant helps our ministry students grow in such love and service by learning from our church ministry partners."
The grant money will be used by the Religion Department at Georgetown College over the next two years to fund guest speakers, service learning experiences for ministry students, and field trips. They also plan to establish a mentoring program with area churches, where students can learn about the daily routine of ministry.
“The NetVUE grant will build on the College's relationships with churches in our region,” says Dr. April Simpson, Assistant Professor of Religion and Director of Faithways Leadership Academy. “We are excited to form new and nourish existing partnerships as part of this effort."
