Residence Life Welcomes Ghosts and Goblins

Submitted on October 26, 2018

All the ghosts and goblins in your household are invited to the Georgetown College campus on Monday, Oct. 29, for safe and fun Halloween festivities from 6 to 8 p.m.

Children and their families are welcome for this community-wide “Trick or Treat” experience – all indoors – in the lobbies and first floors of both Allen and Collier residence halls. The buildings are located in the Mills Residence Quad between Jackson Street and Clayton Avenue in Georgetown.

Activities include face painting, pin spider on the web, a ball toss, and giant games, according to Alex Courtenay ’14, area coordinator for Residence Life. “Over 30 student volunteers will guide kids so they get to do their ‘trick or treating’ safely from door to door of the first floors of each residence hall,” she says. “They will be welcomed by student residents who themselves might just be costumed for the occasion.”

In addition to giving candy, refreshments will be provided. Signs will be posted to help direct visitors.

Parking is available along Jackson Street and in the lots at the corner of Jackson and Military Streets and just off Clayton Avenue.

The Halloween festivities are coordinated and sponsored by the Georgetown College Residence Life office.
