Submitted on January 19, 2023
The James A. and Martha R. Brown Charitable Foundation awarded full tuition scholarships to three Johnson County high school students to attend Georgetown College. All three students accepted the scholarships and will begin their GC journey in the fall of 2023. The scholarship recipients are Zoe Jordan and Cami Robinson from Paintsville High School and Ethan Biddle from Johnson Central High School.
“We are so thankful for the generosity of the Brown Charitable Foundation over the years,” says GC President Rosemary Allen. “Without scholarships like these, some students may not have the financial means to attend college. Their legacy of giving back to their community is admirable.”
James “Jim” Brown was a 1949 graduate of Paintsville High School in Johnson County, Kentucky. Brown was a pilot in the United States Air Force and owned several businesses including Farmers Deposit Bank in Cynthiana and the Ramada Inn in Paintsville.
Georgetown College provided over 40 million dollars in institutional financial aid last year to students.
