•Even more than most areas, our food service will need to adapt depending on the level of risk we are dealing with throughout the term.
•We will also need to work with our partner to determine some of what we will do. That said, we can make some starting proposals that should set us up well regardless of what scenario we face.
•Under any circumstance:
- •We should plan to limit the total number of people in the caf and rearrange the tables to allow for more distance.
- •Eliminate self-service and explore options for food delivery.
- •Provide personal or recyclable options for silverware and single-use containers (e.g. bottles and cans) for drinking.
- •Schedules will be adjusted to allow for more sanitation time between use and to limit the number of people present at any one time.
- •More options for getting food to go should be offered, including alternative pickup spots such as the Grille or Colbert room.
•As required, for scenarios 4 and 5, for example, we could also consider:
- •Creating schedules to only allow students into the caf at designated times, more like a lunch period in a high school, that will encourage cohort behavior.
- •Providing more options to pick up pre-packaged food, perhaps even in residence halls.
- •Increasing outdoor eating options, including tents and food-truck style options.
