ON WE GO! – February 14, 2018

Submitted on February 14, 2018

Last week, I was reminded of the merits of waiting and hoping. That reminder came first as I was enduring the flu. Knowing that several days would be required for my misery to pass, I was left with the hope that patient suffering, and a bit of medication, would allow me to prevail.

My second reminder came through Alexandre Dumas’ brilliant novel, The Count of Monte Cristo. Being away from work for a few days provided me time to read this fascinating tale spun from Dumas’ imagination. If you have never read this literary classic, I highly recommend it. The story is composed of an intricate web of relationships, and it ends with the main character, the Count himself, declaring that all human wisdom is summed up in two words:  wait and hope.

My wish is that everyone enjoy good literature, without getting the flu!
