ON WE GO! – April 18, 2018

This past Sunday, Carolyn and I were privileged to attend the Georgetown Baptist Church, which was celebrating 175 years of being next door to Georgetown College. The church was actually founded in 1810, but it did not move to its current location on South Hamilton Street until 175 years ago. Interestingly, at that time, the Georgetown Baptist Pastor, Reverend Howard Malcom, was also President of Georgetown College.
In my remarks during the two worship celebrations, I observed how my heart was warmed with thoughts of the thousands of lives that have been shaped for God’s good purposes through the combined influences of Georgetown Baptist Church and Georgetown College. Senior Pastor Alan Redditt focused his sermon around scripture’s most famous ‘neighbor passage,’ the Parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37. Inside Georgetown Baptist Church it was a beautiful Sunday morning where being good neighbors was celebrated in worship of our good Lord.
