ON WE GO! – April 11, 2018

By now, many of you are aware of the wonderful news from last week, that the visiting committee from our accrediting body found the College to be in compliance with required standards. This finding was expected, and is certainly welcomed. It will now be relayed to the accreditor’s trustees for final review and decision in June.
As we have all experienced from time to time, exciting news can have varying effects on people. When I received word late Wednesday that the result was going to be quite good, I was thrilled for the College and for the many individuals who have worked hard toward achieving the desired end. I laid awake much of that night, as my mind raced across many contours over the past five years.
Arising early on Thursday morning, I shaved and showered ---then shaved again --- all the while concentrating on matters connected with the accreditation visit. It wasn’t until I was about halfway through my second shave, that my concentration refocused and I realized what I was doing, at which point I burst out laughing! I have shaved for some forty-five years, but I never recall accidentally shaving twice on the same morning. But, no regrets, the news was worth a ‘two-shave’ day!
