Office of Admission Hosts Family Cookout
Submitted on July 5, 2018
Now that we are into July and Independence Day has been celebrated, it will be full speed ahead toward the start of the 2018-2019 academic year.
The Office of Admission has scheduled several events in July and August for both prospective and incoming students.
Prospective students and their families are invited to GC Summer Preview Days on the Fridays of July 13 and July 27. It’s a perfect time to hear from faculty and get answers to any questions about Georgetown’s strong academics, meet with members of the administrative staff including Executive Cabinet, tour campus, and so much more. Full information is available from the Office of Admission at 502-863-8009 or 800-788-9985. Email email@example.com.
The last Preparatory Advising Workshop (PAWS) of the year is Saturday, July 21. Incoming new students will be on campus to meet with academic and financial advisors, get their identification or “G-Cards” made, learn more from the Student Life staff about opportunities on campus and services available, and do all that is needed to begin their life as a GC student.
Incoming students and their families are invited for a cookout on Friday, Aug. 3 – all fun, no business! The GC Family Cookout is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Old Hinton Field, the large grassy area adjacent to the Bush Fitness Center at the corner of College and Military Streets. Enjoy burgers, hot dogs, snacks, and lots of fun games. New students will get to meet their future roommates and classmates.
New student move-in day is Thursday, Aug. 16 with the orientation to campus sessions scheduled through Sunday, Aug. 19. The first day of class is Monday, Aug. 20.
