Mid-South Conference Ready for Postseason Action

Georgetown College women’s and men’s basketball teams enter postseason play this week with the Mid-South Conference tournament in Pikeville, Ky. at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center.
The women begin it all with games Thursday. GC will play the 2 p.m. game against Campbellsville University. Shawnee State University took the regular season title and will play Life University at 10 a.m. Cumberland University and University of Pikeville will square off at noon Thursday. The final quarterfinal game is Lindsey Wilson College against the University of the Cumberlands.
The winner of the 10 a.m. game plays the winner of the noon game Saturday in the semifinal round starting at 10 a.m. The winner between the two Tigers will play the winner of LWC-UC at noon Saturday.
The women’s final is set for 2 p.m. Sunday.
GC’s men earned the two seed outright with a pair of huge road wins this past week. The second victory was a 76-67 affair against Cumberland University. Those two teams will square off in the quarterfinals 2 p.m. Friday.
Pikeville, the regular season champion, will open the tournament against Shawnee State at 10 a.m. Life and Campbellsville will play the noon four-five seed game. Cumberlands and Lindsey Wilson, just like in the women, will face off in the quarterfinal finale 4 p.m
Saturday’s men’s semifinals start at 2 p.m. with a game between the two early winners Friday. GC-CU winner will play the UC-LWC winner 4 p.m. Saturday.
The men’s final is set for 4 p.m. Sunday.
