I and You- a Maskrafters Production
Submitted on April 10, 2019
I and You Opening This Weekend in Wilson Lab Theatre
“I and this mystery, here we stand.”
These haunting opening words will reverberate throughout Georgetown College Maskrafters’ spring production of I and You, a play by Lauren Gunderson.
I and You tells the story of Anthony, a high school athlete with a homework deadline, who unsuspectedly barges into a stranger’s room. That stranger, Caroline, becomes his unwitting partner on the project. Entwined with the poetry of Walt Whitman and the jazz of John Coltrane, I and You tells the story of two lost souls in need of one another and celebrates the wild beauty of life.
Seniors Ross Smith and Harley Dublow play the two strangers, and Matt Menendez and Lauren Parkinson will feature as their understudies.
I and You won the prestigious Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award in 2014, and Gunderson was the most produced playwright in the country in 2017. I and You remains one of her defining works.
I and You evening performances will be on April 12, 13, 14, 18, 26, 27, and 28 at 7:30 P.M. EST. There will be a matinee performance on April 13 at 2:00 P.M. EST. The April 13 matinee and April 18 evening shows are understudy performances.
Tickets are $3 for Students and $5 for nonstudents. They can be purchased the night of the show or reserved by calling 502-863-8104.
