Homecoming Draws Nigh, Festivities Invite Alumni Back to Campus

Come one, come all! Whether you are a current student, a recent alumnus, or a golden ager who graduated in 1967, you are invited to join in connecting, reminiscing, and renewing your Georgetown College affinity during Homecoming 2017 on October 20-21.

Friday highlights include an opening reception for an art alumni exhibit in the Cochenour Gallery of Ensor LRC, an alumni gathering on Friday evening at Country Boy, 108 Corporate Blvd, Georgetown, beginning at 5:30 p.m., and the ever-popular student talent showcase SongFest at 7 p.m. in John L. Hill Chapel.

On Saturday, Festivities associated with the Greek brunches begin at 9 a.m. in the Quad. There will be special recognition in the Quad for returning alumni from the years 1977, 1987, 1997, and 2007. This year, the Kids Zone will be located in the Quad as well, so be sure to bring the youngsters.

The Distinguished Alumni brunch honoring Nolan Bean ’02, Michael Newcomer ’05, Charlotte Stickle Elder ’96, Martha Chatham Pryor ’79, Katherine Wilder Winograd ’79 begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Jones-Hall-Nelson Suite of Cralle Student Center (tickets are $10 each).

Too, there is a Diversity Brunch from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Conference Center as well as numerous other reunion brunches. A Golden Agers luncheon honoring graduates from 1967 is scheduled at the Conference Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (Tickets $10 each).

The Homecoming football game kicks off at 1:30 p.m. at Toyota Stadium as the Tigers welcome Kentucky State University. Tickets may be purchased at the ticket office on game day: Reserved Seats (chair seats) $15.00 each; Reserved Seats (bleachers with back) $12.00 each; General Admission (bleachers) $10 each; Children General Admission (bleachers) $5.
