Dr. Pete to Deliver Last Chapel Wisdom

Professor of Music Pete LaRue will be the speaker for the Office of Faith and Service’s Last Chapel on Tuesday, May 1 in John L. Hill Chapel at 11 a.m. Dr. Pete, as he is affectionately known on campus, will share parting words of wisdom as the academic year comes to an end. Selection of the Last Chapel speaker comes from nominations by students, faculty, and staff.

Dr. Pete has been on the faculty since 1993. He leads both the Tiger Symphonic Band and Fighting Tiger Grrr…Pep Band. Besides college band, Dr. Pete teaches popular courses of study with and about music including Tunes for Twangers – A History of Country Music that is offered each fall.

Last Chapel will also feature a student testimony by Ms. Afton Curtsinger. Music for the service will be provided by Dr. Sonny Burnette at the organ with singing led by Ms. Natalie Tilford Kopp.
