Collectible Ornament Still Available, Purchase Aids Campus Beautification
Submitted on December 7, 2017
Visitors routinely comment about the beauty of our campus. Indeed, Georgetown College’s campus is often cited as one of the most beautiful anywhere in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Of course, beauty is portrayed not just by the size or look of a building, but also the landscaping which goes with it.
To help maintain this landscaping, a beautification program was established four years ago as a supplement to the annual budget for maintaining the landscaping. It is partially funded by the annual sale of collectible Christmas ornaments.
A purchase of the 2017 ornament, the fourth in the series, supports the campus beautification program. This year’s ornament, as shown above, is in color and bears the GC Tiger. It stands alone or could be a perfect addition to ornaments from the previous three years.
Priced at $22 (plus $3 shipping and handling), the ornament may be ordered online by credit card at https://squareup.com/store/georgetown-college. Or you may contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 502-863-8007. The supply is limited, however.
Alumna Ashlyn Stover, Class of 2003, was kind enough to share on Facebook how the ornament looks on her decorated Christmas tree (pictured right) in St. Andrews, SC.
The campus beautification program is administered by a committee of faculty, students, staff, and alumni led by First Lady Carolyn Greene. The committee works closely with the College’s grounds crew and its director, Mr. Doug Bradley, and is most appreciative of the impressive work the grounds crew does.
