Abby Malik Named Executive Director of Marketing and Communications

Georgetown College is proud to announce that following an extensive and comprehensive search Abby Malik has been named Executive Director of Marketing and Communications. Malik joins the college having previously served as Director of Marketing and Communications at Kentucky Educational Television (KET).
The college experienced significant growth in 2020, including a record-breaking incoming freshman class and the surpassing of the college’s annual fund goal. Malik will bring her impressive background and additional expertise in guiding the college’s marketing and communications strategy, aiming to help the college see continued growth and success in recruitment, fundraising, and brand awareness.
She brings a wealth of higher education experience with her, having previously worked in Marketing and Communications at Centre College. “I’ve always wanted to come back to higher education, and getting to now be part of the family atmosphere at Georgetown College is a dream come true,” said Malik.
As the new Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, Malik will work closely with Advancement at Georgetown College. On her appointment, Vice President of Advancement John Davis said, “We are excited to have Abby join the Advancement team as the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications. Abby’s vast experience and impressive accomplishments across her career, including most recently almost ten years at KET, speak to her abilities as an innovator and impactful leader.”
In her new role, Malik looks forward to steering the college in the everchanging world of marketing. “Marketing is evolving. It means there are always new tools and strategies to implement, and I’m excited to guide the college in using them.”
She is also eager to further engage prospective students, current students, parents, alumni, and friends of Georgetown College. “One of the amazing aspects of a place like Georgetown is that it stays with you forever. From the moment a student chooses Georgetown College, they have that connection, so I’m excited to connect with everyone who loves the college, whether they be students, alumni, or fans of Georgetown College.”
