Georgetown College’s Department of Theatre and Film seeks applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre and Film.  The successful candidate will be a dynamic teacher and artist who is able to teach a wide variety of courses in a small, liberal arts program.  This is a generalist position with a primary focus on theatre.  Responsibilities will include teaching lower and upper level courses in a variety of areas, which may include acting, directing, history of theatre and performance, and special topics in areas of expertise.  The ability to teach theatre production courses and to assist with the technical elements of department production is welcome.  Candidates will direct one production per year, assist with other student/workshop productions, engage in scholarly and creative activity, and help with outreach programs to the campus and wider community.  A Master’s degree in theatre is required; an MFA or Ph.D. is preferred.  The ability to collaborate well in a small department is necessary.  Georgetown College is a private liberal arts institution and emphasis is placed on teaching excellence in the context of a church-related college.  Please submit a cover letter, vita, copies of transcripts, statement of teaching philosophy, and three letters of recommendation to Provost Office, 400 E.
