The Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science at Georgetown College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics beginning August 2019. A Ph.D. in Mathematics or Statistics is preferred; a Master's degree in one of these areas is required. Persons with teaching interests in statistics or real analysis are especially encouraged to apply, but applications from all candidates are welcome regardless of specialty. The position may be renewable for up to three years, with the possibility for the occupant of the position to apply for a tenure-track position should one become available. Georgetown College is a private liberal arts institution in central Kentucky serving approximately 1000 undergraduates. We offer B.A. and B.S. degrees in mathematics, a B.S. degree in physics, and minors in computer science, mathematics, physics and data analysis. Emphasis is placed on teaching excellence in the context of a church-related college; research and professional development are encouraged and supported. The teaching load is the equivalent of four three-hour courses per semester.
