Georgetown College invites applications for Assistant Professor of Music/Director of Choral Activities.
The position is full time and tenure-track and will begin in August 2019. Qualified applicants must have a completed doctorate in Choral Music or Conducting. ABD applicants will be considered with the expectation that all degree requirements will be completed by August 2019.
The ideal candidate will have 1) a minimum of three years of successful public school teaching; 2) demonstrated ability to build and guide a successful collegiate choral program; 3) proven success in recruitment and retention, and 4) documented ability to work positively and effectively within and outside the department.
Following a preliminary review, select applicants will be asked to submit audio/video examples of significant performance and/or successful rehearsal experiences.
Duties will include 1) responsibility for all aspects of the Choral Program; and 2) teaching applied voice lessons, music theory and/or other courses as assigned by the Department Chair. The Music Department at Georgetown College offers a minor in music, many classes that support the liberal arts tradition of the college, and strong ensemble experiences in both instrumental and choral music.
