The Department of Communication & Media Studies at Georgetown College invites applicants for a tenure-track position in New Media to begin August 2019.
The successful candidate will be qualified to teach courses in media (with an ability to explore the significance of new media and media literacy. A background in Sports Communication, and/or Advertising and Public Relations is also desirable).
This position will oversee a new minor in professional digital media and help develop and coordinate a proposed interdisciplinary major in digital media design and application. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate an ability to connect their specific media expertise with current course offerings. Applicants should also demonstrate a clear commitment to engaged-student learning exemplified by a strong record of teaching and student mentorship.
Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. or expect to receive the Ph.D. by August 1, 2019. ABD candidates near completion will be considered.
